About King's College Chapel
Building of the chapel began in 1446 by Henry VI ... although it took over a century to be finished after this date.
A spectaular example of late Gothic architecture, the chapel boasts the largest fan vault in the world, and features stunning stained-glass windows.
Currently, the chapel is probably most famous for its Christmas Eve service, which is broadcast around the world. The building has come to be a staple feature of not only King's College but the entire city of Cambridge.
To check the opening times of the chapel, see here. Tickets to see the chapel are £9 (adults) or £6 (students and children).
There are no hot tips for sneaking into the chapel itself (you'll have to pay we're afraid!). However, to walk through King's College, sneak through the back gate (located along the river) during the middle of a weekday in term time, as this is when the porters are not on duty...
Soak in the atmosphere of your surroundings: the sheer size, acomplishment and sublimity of the chapel is enough to make you feel overwhelmed, so make sure to really experience this before taking lots of pictures.
